Fabulous tasting experience at a lovely old winery

点评：We were looking for a winery close to Skofja Loka that we could just pop in for a tasting. This place came up and we called to confirm we didn't need to make an appointment. They do a full tasting experience with food in the evening, but we were to be there in midafternoon. We parked some ways up the narrow street but later realized there was a larger parking area nearby. When we arrived, there didn't seem to be anyone there. Shortly after, however, a young man appeared and indicated we must be the people who spoke to the owner earlier. He sat us at a table in the courtyard, and he ran us through a tasting of five different wines. There was a sleepy cat occupying one of the chairs, but he just curled up on my wife's lap.
We tasted two whites, a Zelen and a Pinela, an orange wine and then two reds. Our host then took us into the cellar to see the barrels where the wine is aged and gave us a little tour of the winery. The winery has been in the family for 16 generations. They also have an inn and they were refurbishing some parts of the building to add more rooms.
The place was really picturesque and ancient looking. The whole village of Slap had the same vibe. Total cost for all four of us was 28 Euros! I would really like to come back and maybe spend a night or two at the inn and explore the Vipava valley more.
