点评:Leeds Fest was an absolute shambles. This will be my first and last time attending. I took my 15 year old daughter and her two friends, with my sister accompanying me, as when booking the tickets, the rules stated only one adult could supervise two under 16’s. When we got to the entry gate, the girls were ahead of us and their tickets were scanned and no one asked for their IDs. It was apparent that there were just hoards of very young kids everywhere who were obviously unsupervised, and so there just wasn’t a good “festival” atmosphere with different age groups. As the day progressed, the litter on the ground just became out of control, we couldn’t even walk around without stepping on the masses of litter everywhere. Not enough bins around and not enough litter pickers working to keep on top of it. The worst part by far was trying to leave. It took us 4 hours to get home as the queues for Ubers and taxis were so long. We spoke to police officers on the A64 who were directing traffic and there were so many young kids with phones that had run out of battery, upset and freezing in the pouring rain asking for help to get home. Our Ubers kept cancelling on us and no taxi companies would come out to pick us up, so I’m just glad I was with my daughter and her friends to look after them and keep them safe. We were told by the police that some extra double decker buses had been scheduled to take stranded people to the city centre, however the police were unsure themselves where the pick up point for these were and we were sent to three different gates and then told we had to get mini buses to the main bus stop, so we just gave up. Luckily a family member came to pick us up after a long wet and stressful 4 hours! My advice is to drive yourself and park there as at least you’re guaranteed to get home that way and not be stuck wandering about for hours on end.
