点评：Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Memorial is located before reaching Rameswaram town and is a must-visit place for anyone interested in the life and achievements of A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. Parking facilities are available on the opposite side of the road. Mobile phones are not allowed inside the memorial, and visitors must also leave their footwear at the designated area before entering. Entry to the memorial is free of cost.
The architecture of the memorial is quite impressive. The entrance gate reflects elements of Chettinad architecture, similar to the grand entrance style of Brihadeeswarar Temple. The central dome is inspired by the design of Rashtrapati Bhavan. A beautiful bronze statue of Dr. Kalam playing the veena is another major attraction of the complex.
The memorial consists of four halls showcasing different phases and achievements of Dr. Kalam’s life, including exhibits related to the Pokhran nuclear tests. Visitors can also see replicas of rockets and missiles, along with paintings and photographs depicting his journey and contributions to the nation.
The well-maintained garden outside the memorial resembles a Mughal Garden and adds to the peaceful and dignified atmosphere of the place.
