Dog Falls的点评
点评：Fantastic hiking experience. There are three different routes which can also be combined (that's what we did, including the lookout on the white route this amounts to about 3.5 hours if you take it slowly). Some steep parts, but not too strenous. I would avoid the yellow trail on a rainy day though as it can be slippery. The paths are very well maintained and very clearly signposted. They also provide maps at the car park - I would recommend using one of these as it means you don't have to use your phone all the time and can focus on taking in the surroundings and the stunning views. I especially liked Coire Loch.
The car park is £3, which is perfectly acceptable as it's spacious, very clean and there are toilets and picnic tables. When we were there (end of August) it was only half full, but some people parked outside on the single track road, apparently to avoid the fee - that's something I just don't get.
If you come from the northern direction, i.e. Beauly, the single track section of the road is rather long, but if you approach Dog Falls via Drumnadrochit it is more comfortable, as the road from Drumnadrochit to Cannich from there is in better condition.
