点评:BMW Factory and Welt. The Welt is a collection of BMW current production cars and is well worth a 30 minute walk thru - more if you are shopping. Don't forget to look over the Rolls Royce exhibit as well. But the main reason to go is start your Factory tour, which you do need to set up ahead of time. The Factory was a different kind of amazing. Munich is BMW’s smallest plant producing about 1000 cars per day – the 3 and 4 series in every configuration: electric, hybrid, combustion and M-series. All done on the same line at the same time. How? Super high tech. Using computer aided machines with hand and eye inspections done by humans. Robots so advanced, they have their own service robots that attend to the welders as needed. This is the way cars are built today and an incredible process it is. Keep your eyes open for test mules and prototypes around the line and building to catch a glimpse of what’s next for BMW. Your guide may remind you that you didn’t see anything!
