Cowes Floating Bridge的点评
点评：Cowes floating bridge runs between Cowes and East Cowes. It provides a crossing over the Medina river. The alternative is to travel by road to Newport and use the Medina Way Bridge to cross the river and then travel back, a total distance of approximately nine miles. We decided to try the floating bridge out. There is a cost involved - see signage at either side for current details. It's dog friendly. It takes only a few minutes to cross the river, but there is an associated loading and unloading time which lengthens the trip. On our previous visit to the island, the bridge was out of action, so this time we felt we ought to try it at least once. We went by car, with two dogs, all of us remaining inside for the duration of the crossing. The staff are friendly and helpful. The dogs, though inquisitive, remained calm. At the time of our visit there were horrendous roadworks across the island. The floating bridge thus provided some relief. There are discounts for local residents and it runs seven days a week throughout the day.
