A Beautiful Little Fishing Cove with Incredible Scenery

点评：We spent a wonderful day at Marina di Praia, a tiny fishing cove tucked beneath the dramatic cliffs of Praiano. If you're expecting a traditional sandy beach, this isn't it, there are smooth rocks and pebbles instead. But what it lacks in sand, it more than makes up for with crystal-clear water, colorful fishing boats, and spectacular Amalfi Coast scenery.
The water was definitely cooler than we're accustomed to in Florida or the Bahamas, but we couldn't resist taking a swim! The setting alone makes it worth getting in the water.
We also enjoyed walking along Via Praia and exploring the coastline. One interesting stop was Le Grotte dell’Africana, which dates back to 1962 and has an interesting connection to the famous ballerina Margot Fonteyn.
For lunch, we highly recommend Trattoria Da Armandino, a family-run restaurant that has been serving the Marina di Praia fishing community since 1986. We kept things simple and local. Tuna and bean salad for one of us and sardines with a mixed salad for the other. With some good bread and cold flat water, it was exactly the kind of relaxed lunch we were hoping for.
What made the day particularly special was simply sitting beside the sea, enjoying fresh local food, surrounded by the cliffs and fishing boats. As Americans with Italian ancestry, there was also something meaningful about experiencing this beautiful part of the land of our ancestors.
A wonderful place to spend a relaxed day on the Amalfi Coast. Don't come expecting a traditional beach—come for the scenery, swimming, food, and atmosphere. ❤️🇮🇹
