Just arrived and feel totally mugged off with a $167 charge for a 7 day visit.

点评：Just arrived, parked the car checked into the hotel, all lovely.
Then we have just found out that the nav appears to have bypassed the pass booth. Not a drama you would think, until you read that you can be fined $25,000 for not having a pass. I would write that twice, because I now suspect that they would fine each person……
So we rushed into town to speak with the Visitors Centre who explained that because we were staying for 7 days and not 5 it would better to pay for an annual pass @ $167……or if your not sure, you have to buy a pass for 365 days, even though you dared to stay over 5 days and add to the tourism. How very dare we!!!
Here is the insult to injury - the pass is FREE for three months of the summer to promote tourism!!!!
I’ll be chatting with the restaurant and cafes to see if they confess that they put pressure on the government to waver the pass because it actually costs them money during the summer due to loss of income.
Sorry guys, but your 20% tips are out the window because we need to recoup some of this tax back!!!
