点评：Two visits with a friend for Metro One Day cup matches on successive Fridays.
The first was OK apart from the soggy cod goujons and [declined] tired mushy peas at lunchtime and being turned away from the hugely restricted parking, which you cannot book and pay for in advance [at all] despite what it says on their web site.
This Friday was a cup quarter final so we had to pay entry even though we were members, but this time were at least able to reserve in the upstairs club suite for an extra fiver. Alas there was no service in there, not even water, and they had forgotten to turn on the air conditioing, so it was sweltering until I twigged the problem and pressed the on button. This time the fish, chips and peas in the main suite was actually quite good and fair value. Alas the end of the day was marred by very poor management (and the team's 5th worst one day result in their 60+ years of playing it). As play finished well over an hour early at 17:15 we decided to have a third drink (at over £6 per pint!), wait for the crowd to disperse and rush hour on the trams to abate. Alas we had barely sat down when a staff member advised us to drink up and leave in ten minutes (harking back a quarter of a century to before Licensing Act reform), reinforced by the uniformed chief steward some minutes later. We gulped down our drinks, and then tried to leave only to find that the entrance we came in by near the tram stop had been closed and we faced a long 400m trek (me with a stick) back via the main entrance.
