点评：Our 12-Day Trip to Egypt – Overall Review
Overall, we enjoyed our 12-day trip to Egypt and appreciated the opportunity to experience its remarkable history, cultural attractions, and activities. However, we encountered several issues along the way that fell short of our expectations, particularly for a tour company that typically receives five-star reviews.
Arrival in Cairo: The Odynovo representative who was supposed to meet us upon arrival was running late. As a result, we had to navigate the initial arrival process on our own for a short time, including immigration and obtaining our visas. Fortunately, the representative eventually met us at baggage claim.
Drive from Cairo to Alexandria: Despite being specifically told that there would be a rest stop during the long drive to Alexandria, no stop was made for a short break or coffee. This was disappointing, particularly given the length of the journey.
Nile Cruise Cabin Temperature: The thermostat controlling the temperature in our cabin did not work properly. We were advised to turn it off and then turn it back on several hours later. This was an inconvenient and unsatisfactory workaround rather than a proper resolution to the problem.
Tours in Luxor: Our Luxor guide repeatedly discouraged me from visiting additional tombs that I wanted to see, offering various reasons why I did not need to visit them. I would have appreciated more support for my interests and the opportunity to make my own decisions about which sites to explore.
Souvenir Shopping: When I expressed an interest in purchasing an obelisk souvenir, our Luxor guide took us to a shop where the items were very expensive, with prices exceeding $700 USD. This was far beyond what I had in mind, and I was not interested in negotiating prices. A wider range of options at different price points would have been much more helpful.
Communication with Our Trip Planner: During the trip, I sent several WhatsApp messages to our original Odynovo trip planner but did not receive any responses. Timely communication and assistance are important when traveling internationally, and the lack of response was disappointing.
Luxor Guide and Itinerary Information: Our Luxor guide did a good job explaining the historical and cultural details of the sites we visited. However, he was less effective at explaining the overall itinerary and what to expect at each stage of the tour. Clearer communication about the schedule and available options would have improved the experience.
All-Inclusive Resort in Hurghada: Our final stop at the Hurghada resort was very enjoyable. However, it was initially difficult to determine which restaurants were included in the all-inclusive package and whether drinks were covered. We gradually became more familiar with the arrangements by the second day, but clearer information upon arrival would have made the experience easier and more relaxing.
In conclusion, we had a good trip and enjoyed many of the activities and experiences Egypt had to offer. Nevertheless, the issues described above created more bumps along the road than we had anticipated. Given Odynovo's reputation for receiving five-star reviews, we expected a smoother, more organized experience, with better communication, greater attention to our preferences, and more effective handling of unexpected problems.
While we are glad we made the trip and have many positive memories, we believe there is room for improvement in several aspects of Odynovo's tour planning and customer service.
