点评：I chose to take the Salem Ferry to Boston for a day trip instead of driving. I didn't want to deal with city traffic, one ways, parking, or getting lost in a city I've never been to before. I chose the 10:30AM depart & 5:30PM return times, so it was more of a half day. I'm so glad I chose to take the ferry as we saw a whale lobtailing (tail slapping) on the way back to Salem & it was much less stressful to not worry about driving. Even though I was unable to spend as much time in Boston as I would have liked; I was still able to do more than I initially planned. I did walk everywhere I went, which somewhat limited where I could go, but I factored in walk times. I spent time at Faneuil Hall Marketplace (including Faneuil Vistor's Center), Boston Public Market, Old North Church, Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum, & the New England Aquarium. The aquarium was conveniently located roughly 2 minutes from where the ferry was located. I was able to see more in between my destinations & take more pictures because I was walking. I am a faster than average walker & it takes me less time on average than google map's estimate walk time for reference. There were a lot of nice, historic buildings to see. I was a solo traveler & felt safe walking this city myself. Although I wish I could have done/seen more, I am happy with what I did get to do & see. I would recommend a jacket or hoodie for the ferry ride as it is about 10° colder on the water & it's windy. I sat up top in the elements as it was my first time in Salem & Boston & I didn't want to miss anything. They do have a cabin people can sit in if you prefer to be more comfortable. Booking online was easy. Lastly, the staff in the office & on the ferry were friendly & helpful. If I return to Salem, I would definitely take the ferry to Boston again.
