点评：Sidney Pier is an absolute delight and easily one of the highlights of our visit to Vancouver Island. This iconic waterfront spot perfectly captures the relaxed, coastal charm that makes Sidney so special.
The moment you arrive, you’re greeted by the beautiful bronze statue of a local fisherman relaxing on a bench — a wonderful, welcoming touch that sets the tone for the entire experience. Stretching out along the sparkling blue water, the pier offers breathtaking panoramic views of the harbor, distant islands, and the majestic mountains beyond. On a clear day (which we were lucky to have), the scenery is postcard-perfect.
We loved wandering along the wooden piers, watching fishing boats come and go, and spotting incredible wildlife. A majestic bald eagle perched on a nearby post, seagulls posing dramatically on the railings, and harbor seals popping up in the water — it felt like nature was putting on a show just for us. The nearby fish market and waterfront restaurants add to the authentic maritime atmosphere, and the whole area is impeccably clean and well-maintained.
Whether you’re strolling at golden hour, sitting on one of the benches soaking in the sea breeze, or simply people-watching, Sidney Pier radiates peaceful, small-town coastal magic. It’s romantic, family-friendly, and perfect for photographers.
Highly recommended — come early or stay for sunset. One of the most enjoyable and photogenic spots in all of Sidney. We’ll definitely be back!
