Surprisingly good food, well served.

点评：It was a surprise and pleasure to find that the much vaunted London GC (est 1994) was happy to accept non-members into their Spike Bar for food and drink. My brother and I quickly booked to go on our West Kent FEB Challenge tour.
Staff were very helpful, the bar area comfortable though we did find that the table height was not optimum for serious eating off a plate. Ant that was our other criticism - the plates were not large enough to accommodate all the food ordered. We ditched the hash browns (not English), the mushrooms (brother dislikes them) and the toasted bread (must have proper fried bread). Then ordered two fried eggs (yoke still runny) two pork sausages (good flavour and freshly cooked), two sides of smoked back bacon, grilled tomato, two slices of delicious black pudding (cooked crispy as requested), the separate bowl of baked beans and two slices of fried white bread (not oily and crunchy) which was all close to breakfast heaven!!
Well done to the chef and team and thanks to the friendly serving staff. This was my first visit to the LGC and I was impressed. Thanks for a marvellous start to our weekend.
