点评:Visited this museum as we have a keen interest in aviation and being in 'bomber county' thought this ex RAF airfield deserved a visit.
Admission fee is very modest, £8.80 for an adult with gift aid. Marginally cheaper without gift aid. I don't recall the fees for concessions or children.
Despite its modest size the museum is heaving with history and a good range of interesting exhibits and exhibitions. A very sombre and sobering exhibit is a collection of WW2 model Lancasters, each one represents a loss of an aircraft that was based there during WW2. Nearby is a board with the full details of the loss and the outcome for each crew member, most died.
Really warm and informative greeting on arrival and this theme continued as we toured the site. For many being able to enter and sit in the cockpit of their Dakota will be the highlight of their visit, this doesn't diminish the rest of the museum, just enhances it.
Lovely little tea shop and a picnic area too. Car park is free.
