点评:I wanted to take this opportunity to correct some bad reviews for this monument. This is the ancient symbol of justice. It was moved to this location years ago when the new courthouse was built across the road. The square has an early 20th century five. And the monument is a reminder to the harshness of justice in earlier times. There are so many restaurants within walking distance of the pillory. In fact, some of the best restaurants in the region. Right across the street is an excellent café where everyone speaks English. And on the other side a phenomenal ice cream shop. Right down the road some outstanding five star restaurants and JP’s pizza, which is really good. As for the city itself, there is so much to do. Every Saturday there’s a huge antiques and food market in the main Square. There is right by the Pillary it really good museum to the famous local figures. And down the street, one of the best tile museums in Europe. The castle is free to visit in a big hike up the hill. I guess the point is read up on a place before you go there and don’t pass judgment as quickly as some of the reviewers here have, and you’ll really get to see the wonders of Portugal.
