Kids diving at Kani Club Med
Euro-Divers Club Med Kani的点评
点评：While staying at Club Med Kani, I introduced my two kids (aged 10 and 12) to scuba diving, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our holiday.
Our instructor, Minni, was wonderful. She took the kids through all the necessary safety skills and instructions to help them feel confident getting into the water, while also refreshing my own diving knowledge as I hadn’t dived for 14 years. She was calm, kind and incredibly patient throughout.
The ocean was a little choppy with some swell when the kids were doing their practice skills, and my son initially had some trouble equalising. Minni managed the situation really well and, despite the challenging conditions, got them both underwater and enjoying their first dive.
A couple of hours later they were back in the water and both successfully completed the Introduction to Scuba experience.
While this isn’t a formal PADI Open Water certification, it’s a fantastic introduction to scuba diving and life underwater. We saw turtles, stingrays, reef sharks, nurse sharks, lionfish and so many colourful reef fish. Kani has plenty of relatively shallow reefs, which meant we could dive to around 10 metres and still see some incredible marine life.
Minni was so good that I took the kids on another two dives in the subsequent days. We also dealt with Tom and Guillaume, who were both great, and the whole Eurodivers team at Kani was friendly and professional. They work with people of all ages, nationalities, abilities and confidence levels every day, and they’re clearly very experienced at making everyone feel comfortable.
A few things that might be helpful to know:
* Eurodivers provides all the equipment, including gear for children.
* The water is lovely and warm, so only a short wetsuit is needed, which they also provide.
* If English isn’t your first language the team speak a variety of other languages including French and Mandarin
* Club Med Kani requires all guests to do a short swim test off their jetty. It’s a v simple ~15m swim unaided around some buoys
* The whole operation is clean, efficient and very well run.
If you’re looking for a way to introduce your child to scuba diving without jumping straight into a full certification course and lots of theory, I’d highly recommend this experience. It was the perfect introduction for our kids and has definitely sparked a love of diving.
