点评:Swoon at the Moon! We went to the Rancho Mirage Public Library in the evening for their free program entitled Swoon at the Moon. The library has an observatory on its campus with three high-powered telescopes. There's free parking at the library. People seem to know about these evening astronomy-related programs, and they draw a crowd. Volunteers staff the area and help move people through the queue. A volunteer astronomer answered questions and lectured while we waited. At a certain point, it is my understanding that they close the line because they have reached capacity for the evening. So, this writer would suggest that you round up your group and get there on time, if not early. We probably waited forty-five minutes. Once we got the go-ahead to walk up the ramp and into the dome and observatory area, several knowledgeable volunteers explained what to do and what we could see. Youngsters (and oldsters!) interested in space would really enjoy this. This is a well-organized, well-run outfit, and we were very impressed and glad we went to see the moon up close.
