点评：We visited White Plains Beach during our recent visit to Oahu. This beach is on the less crowded leeward side compared to Waikiki and is an approximate 45-minute drive from downtown Honolulu. Our daughter told us this beach is known as a beginners’ surfing spot and a favorite gathering place for military and civilian families. Located on the former Barbers Point Naval Air Station land, it offers covered pavilions and patio areas for gatherings, indoor and outdoor showers, wheelchair beach access, grills and restrooms to name a few. Surfboards are available for rent. There were a good number of families enjoying the beach with their children as well as a large group enjoying a gathering of friends and families. It is not a dog friendly beach so you will have to leave your fur baby home. Be sure to lock all valuables in your trunk since there tends to be car-break-in can happen like many Oahu beaches and tourist spots. Expect crowds on weekends. Recommend this beach.
