点评：What an amazing gallery!!!! First of all, all the art pieces are beautiful. The proprietors, Alexander and Katharina, are truly incredible people with wonderful stories. Alexander started the shop 25 years and has showcased his pieces everywhere around the world. He is a painter and most of the pieces he produces are in the Greek island motif of the whites and blues coastal/island feel. He has also worked with the Cousteau Foundation in saving the oceans we so love. He even placed a plaque in the sea commemorating the Cousteau Foundation as he is an avid diver.
Katharina is the artist that, in her words…”loves to create with my hands”. She does all the ceramic pieces that are wonderful. Make sure to go to their workshop as you will be taken aback. Katharina is the daughter of journalists who has traveled the world but creates in Naxos. And to boot, she can create beautiful ceramics and in the same breath talk all sports, that is how well rounded she is.
Fish & Olive Gallery is the flow of the artistic creativity of an adorable couple celebrating 25 years since established.
I am already looking forward to visiting the gallery and visiting them next year and seeing their new creations.
The gallery is a must visit, not only if you stay in the village of Chalki but also if you are anywhere in Naxos (make the visit as it will be worthwhile).
