点评:Recently I decided to visit the Richard III Visitor Centre in Leicester mainly because of the unusual story of the King that was found buried under a car park which, at the time, attracted lots of media coverage. Whilst I don't have a great interest in history I thought it was still worth a visit since I would leave with more knowledge on the subject than I had when I went in.
From the outside the building looks nothing special (an old school) but the inside is completely different. It's very modern and welcoming.
All the information is presented in a clear, orderly way. There is a section on the discovery of the body and how it was identified as that of King Richard. This I found extremely interesting. As well as being able to view the original burial site you can see the final resting place of the King in the cathedral opposite.
Finally, there's a nice little cafe that serves good snacks at reasonable prices and a well stocked gift shop.
