Fascinating tour - well worth doing

点评：We're not Welsh and knew next to nothing about Hedd Wyn before our visit, but found our two or three hours at Yr Ysgwrn utterly absorbing. The cottage itself is small but full of interest, whether you're into Welsh culture, history, poetry or just want to hear the family story and see inside their home as it was in the early 1900s.
Our small group tour ended up as four people, two English, two Welsh, was led mainly in English with a smattering of Welsh. It gave us a comprehensive instruction to all of these things and was led with real passion and knowledge. The property had a relaxed and intimate feel and we were not rushed through the exhibit.
We also enjoyed the films and displays in the visitor centre, especially seeing the book of 26 layers of wallpapers removed by conservators from the walls and the original wooden cross from HW's grave at Artillery Wood Cemetery near Ypres.
Well worth visiting and a bargain at £9 per head.
Worth noting that you can only visit the cottage as part of a tour; there is no self-guided access. It's not a bad idea to book ahead.
