点评：We visited today with my husband, father, and two dogs after checking the website, which explicitly states that dogs on leads are welcome.
We paid £24 expecting a peaceful walk around a beautiful garden, but unfortunately, our experience was very stressful.Right after making the payment, my father's dog spotted a resident cat and began barking. Instead of allowing us to move the dog away to calm her down, the owner insisted we sit down in that exact spot to listen to a talk about his personal history.
While we tried to distract the dog, she continued to whine. The owner became visibly frustrated by the interruption, stating twice that there was "no point" in him continuing. He then told us he "couldn't understand why people insist on bringing their dogs to a peaceful garden retreat."
We felt very unwelcome and spoken down to, especially since the business advertises itself as dog-friendly. Because we were not permitted to simply walk the grounds without the forced lecture, the situation became uncomfortable, and we chose to leave within 10 minutes of arriving without entering the actual gardens.
If you plan to visit with dogs, please be aware that you may be expected to sit through a presentation close to resident animals, and vocal dogs are not tolerated by the management.
