点评:I've always been fascinated by mythology, particularly Greek mythology, so visiting a monument dedicated to Neptune — the Roman counterpart of Poseidon — was something I genuinely looked forward to.
The fountain stands in an open area of Batumi, with a prominent golden Neptune figure rising above the surrounding sculptures.
Visually, it's a striking monument, but what made me stop and look more closely was something entirely different.
At the base of the fountain are several sculpted female figures, with water flowing from their breasts. I found that detail both surprising and interesting, particularly because it's not something I would commonly expect to see in a public fountain in Indonesia.
It made me appreciate how public art can reflect different artistic traditions and cultural attitudes.
The setting itself is fairly exposed, with little greenery or shade, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend spending a long time there during the hottest part of the day.
Still, for anyone who enjoys mythology, classical figures, or unusual sculptural details, Neptune Fountain is a worthwhile stop.
For me, the most memorable part wasn't simply seeing Neptune himself, but discovering the artistic details surrounding him.
