Alice Holt Forest is a brilliant place to visit, especially for families. The walking and cycling tracks are excellent, well maintained and offer plenty of different routes to explore. The facilities are also very good, and overall it’s a great place to spend a few hours or even most of the day.
The one thing that really lets it down is the complete lack of outside rubbish bins. We struggled to find anywhere to dispose of rubbish, with seemingly the only bin available being inside/around the coffee shop area.
It’s therefore no wonder you see rubbish being left around the forest and facilities. Of course, people should always take their rubbish home with them, but for somewhere that attracts so many visitors, surely having a few properly placed outside bins would make a huge difference.
A fantastic place with great tracks and facilities, but something as simple as providing more bins would help keep it looking as good as it should.
