Close encouters with animals of the boreal forests

点评：We were pleasantly surprised by the size and complexity of this zoo, which on the map appears pretty close to the middle of nowhere. This zoo focuses on northern animals, and admission includes a "train" ride through the boreal forest exhibit.
All the animals appeared healthy, and engaged. The animals in the Boreal plain are given lots of space to engage in their natural behaviour, and most of the other enclosures appeared big enough to give the animals space to roam. The overhead walkways provided a unique perspective on the animals. During our trip through this exhibit the truck and several segments of the "train" were rammed by a musk-ox in rut. A unique experience for sure.
The immersive film was interesting, though the artificial pine smell was a bit overwhelming.
Overall a highly recommended destination.
