点评：I would that the kayaking started with food intent. But Dev's fails in safety standards. First, having kayaked in Sabah and Sarawak, one thing I would say is that the outfitters ALWAYS had 2 guides, one manning the front, the other managing the group from the back. Stragglers, anyone in distress, suddenly unable to turn their kayaks due to the currents, were swiftly taken off. Today, there was just one lone guide, struggling a group of 8, 3 of whom we're small children under 10 years. No forethought for safety, whether the parents who were Indian tourists, casual first time visitors to Langkawi, could handle the kayak, let alone paddle with and against the flow of the currents, from fast speedboats plying the river. The guide, Wan, did his best, to help, including myself.... at times, relying on the two Japanese male tourists who were kind enough to help stragglers....because I kept getting pushed by fast speedboats....I was seriously disappointed with the poor planning, no safety explanation, no forethought to ask or check if tourists had young children in the group. Dev's needs to take big lesson from other kayaking outfitters like Semadang Kayak in Kuching, Sarawak (have done base level kayaking with them many times).....safety is not something to be compromised. Especially with tourists who are unfamiliar with the currents, barely understand muffles English spoken by the guide. Utterly disappointing......the tour operator also did not confirm the trip in advance, I was only aware of availability of the tour yesterday afternoon.....a full week before I flew into Langkawi yesterday.
