Fascinating exhibitions
Compton Verney Art Gallery的点评
点评：Went specifically to see an exhibition by Enid Marx, who specialised in textile designs. It was fascinating. Some of her designs were used on London transport - these were on display. But there were lots more textile designs also on show from other textile designers of the same period, early to mid 20th century. The displays were well supported with lots of background information explaining the history of origins of the designs. In addition to this exhibition were plenty of others from folklore art to Italian renaissance. For the price of entry the exhibitions are well worth seeing. We were there for most of the day which included a walk around the garden of sculptures clearly explained by a free guide. The restaurant is also worth a visit. Lunch was freshly prepared and delicious. Overall a good day out.
