Accommodation Tip: Most hotels here have an 8 AM checkout, but if you explore a bit near the temple (within 500-600m), you can find guest houses offering 24-hour check-in/out. I got a decent AC room for ₹1200, which was perfect for a solo stay.
The Darshan: To avoid the massive crowds, try to reach the Jagannath Temple by 6:00 AM. I finished my darshan in about 1.5 hours. The spiritual energy inside is unmatched, though the crowd management could be slightly better.
Must-Try Food: You cannot leave Puri without having the Mahaprasad. A full traditional meal on a leaf costs around ₹100 and is easily the most satisfying meal you'll find.
Konark & Surroundings: Renting an auto to the Konark Sun Temple (UNESCO site) is very affordable (approx. ₹50 per person in shared/group settings). Do stop at Chandrabhaga Beach on the way—it’s beautiful.
Evening Highlight: Don't miss the Sea Aarti at Golden Beach. It’s as divine as the Ganga Aarti in Banaras and offers a very peaceful end to the day.
