So much garden in a small area, a must visit for plant lovers
York Gate Garden的点评
点评：The RHS informed me that members could have free entry to York Gate on Fridays so we decided to call in on the way back from a trip. The garden is found to the N.W. of Leeds but appears to be well known as it was quite busy. We had been advised to park on the lane leading down to the entrance, but as it was already late morning some spaces were coming free in the car park, which was a lot more convenient.
This turned out to be one of the best gardens I have visited. It is not large in scale so much is crowded into each garden 'room'. This makes for interest and colour at every turn - and much inspiration.
There is also a cafe which looks new and is very well kept. The weather was very kind so we enjoyed tea and delicious cake on the terrace, served by the most helpful and friendly ladies. A small selection of plants, as seen in the garden, just had to be purchased for my own.
A word of warning; if driving through, it looks easy to go into Leeds to the M1. Not on a Friday afternoon! The ring road is a better bet.
