You get what you pay for. This is not a Merlin attraction

点评：We stayed over the bank holiday weekend. We booked last minute and paid £130 for an overnight stay, and tickets for the theme park the following day.
I will start by saying this is no where near the standards of a Merlin theme park. If you have expectations of the likes of Chessington, Thorpe park or Legoland, don’t. But saying that - can you stay overnight with theme park tickets for £130 ? No. You get what you pay for.
We checked in relatively easy. Lovely lady explained how to find our accommodation. Welcome drinks offered and given information for the evening entertainment. We had booked a Tipi but given a wizard hut. Nice upgrade.
The hut was lovely and basic. Little area outside to sit and relax and inside was clean. Good quality bedding. Extra thick and heavy duvet. Good pillow. No complaints other than I would have liked a brighter light as it was quite dark inside.
We then decided to get dinner. We were told we were able to eat now before 5pm or we need to wait until 7pm. This is due to those on a stay, play, eat package eating at peak time. When we returned for dinner I would say it was quite disappointing. The chef lacks skill and it shows. Chips were cold, tough and chewy. All food was cold and greasy. It was already late enough so we didn’t want to wait any longer for fresh food. They had pizza on the specials board. They were okay. Fresh and hot and would recommend those if staying.
We visited some of the entertainment in the evening. The arts and crafts 5-6pm was great. Really good prices and the lady running it was friendly and helpful. She even kept it open a bit later until my children had finished their activities. My children then attended the ‘make a milkshake’. £6 and they can make their own milkshake and get a mason glass to take home too. Staff again - great. And a bit of fun for my children.
Breakfast. AVOID. We wasted our time waiting for breakfast to open. The offering is very basic, sausage bap, bacon bap, toast or cereal. But the worse part was the sausage bap. Bread so stale it crumbled in our hands. Sausage cold and tasted like it had been cooked yesterday. How can we be the first ones into breakfast and be served cold food?? We left and visited McDonalds which is a 5 minute drive. I recommend you do the same.
Theme park. We started at the main theme park. A bit busy to get in, but once in the queues for the rides are really reasonable. If you have visited a Merlin attraction, this is completely different. Lots of rides you can walk up and hardly queue. Great for children with poor attention span. Lots of different rides and I found all ride workers were friendly, happy and very helpful. Again good offering isn’t there strong point. I would avoid the main food court and bring your own food.
Overall we had a good experience. I would say avoid the food, bring your own. Staff are what makes this place great. Yes it’s a bit run down but actually, for what we paid. It’s a good price and much much cheaper than the big names.

之后我们决定去吃晚饭。我们被告知，可以在下午5点之前用餐，否则就得等到晚上7点。这是因为购买了“住宿+娱乐+餐饮”套餐的客人们会在高峰时段用餐。当我们回来吃晚餐时，只能说体验相当令人失望。厨师的厨艺实在欠佳，这一点从菜肴中就能看出来。薯条又冷又硬，难以下咽；所有食物都是冷的且油腻不堪。当时已经很晚了，我们也不想再等待新鲜烹制的食物了。菜单上有披萨，还算可以吧。新鲜热腾腾的，如果在此住宿的话我强烈推荐。
晚上我们参加了一些娱乐活动。下午5点到6点的手工艺活动很不错。价格非常实惠，负责管理的女士既友善又乐于助人。甚至在我孩子们完成活动后，她还把活动时间稍微延长了一会儿。之后孩子们又参加了“制作奶昔”的活动。只需6英镑，他们就能自己制作奶昔，还能带一个玻璃瓶回家。工作人员同样很棒，孩子们也玩得很开心。
早餐。不推荐。我们浪费了时间等待早餐供应。提供的食物极其简单：香肠面包、培根面包、吐司或麦片。但最糟糕的就是那个香肠面包——面包干得一捏就碎，香肠也是冷的，尝起来像昨天煮的。我们可是第一批来吃早餐的客人，怎么会吃到冷冰冰的食物呢？！最后我们离开那里，驱车5分钟去了麦当劳。我建议大家也这么做。
主题公园。我们从主主题公园开始游玩。入口处有点拥挤。不过，一旦排上游乐项目的队伍后，等待时间其实相当合理。如果你去过默林娱乐旗下的其他景点，就会发现这里完全不同：很多游乐项目几乎不用排队，直接就能玩。对于注意力难以集中的小朋友来说再合适不过了。这里有各式各样的游乐项目，而且我发现所有工作人员都很友善、乐于助人。虽然丰富的项目并非它的强项，但整体体验还是不错的。我建议避开主餐饮区，自带食物会更好。
总的来说，我们的体验不错。不过还是劝大家别指望这里的食物啦。请自带用品。正是这些工作人员让这个地方如此出色。没错，这里有点破旧，但就我们支付的费用而言，这个价格相当划算，比那些知名酒店要便宜得多。
