Was emailed in the morning that the hot tub wasnt working - no offer of date exchange just a heads up
Arrive to find the hot tub and steam room were out of use, leaving us only the pool to use while waiting for our treatments, decide to go for a coffee as neither of us wished to use the pool. Checked with the reception team they said to go up. After waiting several minutes rang the bell as the sign suggested as no one came, after roughly 10 minutes, we went back downstairs and asked if we could rearrange our spa day, to bluntly be told no, they dont do that on the day of, said it wasnt their fault the ammenities werent working, the attitude/ sass of 1 girl in particular who said there was no point in asking for the manager as she was the team leader and would only be passed to her anyway and she had already said no, was not only dismissive but made my mom feel very embarrassed and upset
After this i asked for a refund, explaining i wasnt happy (silly of me i know) which again was refused to simply be told there is nothing you can do, what should have been a lovely day of celebrating and relaxation was instead a very disappointing experience leaving my mom visibly upset
More upset at the lack of communication and terrible service than i am the facillities not working but the two combined, showed that the abby hotel has little empathy for its guests and takes no responsibility,
After contacting spa seakers (which again we was advised not to bother with)we were denied a refund but was told we could rearrange as long as we told them that day what date we wanted and it had to be within 3 weeks and only a weekday, i had booked a day off work to celebrate with my mom and was unable to confirm a new date on the spot without rearranging time off, however after our awful experience, my agreed that even if she was offered a free spa day every week she wouldnt accept as she felt humiliated and spoken down to
