Gergeti Trinity Church的点评
点评：Gergeti Trinity Church was one of the highlights of our time around Kazbegi. The church itself is quite simple, but its location surrounded by the Caucasus mountains is what makes the visit memorable.
We went up from Stepantsminda and the views became better as we gained elevation. Once we arrived, we spent quite a while outside just walking around and taking in the scenery. On a clear day the combination of the old stone church, green slopes and mountains in the background is beautiful.
The weather is something I would keep in mind. Conditions in the mountains can change quickly, and it was noticeably cooler and windier around the church than down in the town. I’d bring an extra layer even if the weather looks comfortable when you leave Stepantsminda.
Inside the church the atmosphere is much quieter than outside, and it’s worth remembering that this is still an active religious site rather than simply a tourist attraction. We kept our visit inside fairly brief and spent most of our time enjoying the surroundings.
I wouldn’t rush this stop. You could see the church itself quite quickly, but for us the best part was having enough time to walk around, enjoy the mountain views and watch the scenery change with the clouds.
Definitely one of the places I’d recommend including on a trip to Kazbegi, especially if you enjoy mountain scenery without needing to plan a long hike.
