Hostile and Unprofessional Treatment of Service Dog Handlers

点评：I am deeply disappointed by how Sholom Park treats visitors with disabilities. During my recent visits, I was subjected to blatant harassment and public humiliation by staff members patrolling on golf carts.
While the park has a "no pets" policy, federal law protects service animals. Legitimate staff inquiries are permitted, but Sholom Park staff used those rules as a license to bully. On one occasion, a staff member screamed down a public pathway to accuse me of breaking rules, then conducted a loud, sharp interrogation about my service dog in front of a crowd of strangers. After I fully complied and answered their questions, the staff continued to press, hover over me, and lecture me about how "other people lie all the time" about service dogs.
On a previous visit, another individual operating a park golf cart fabricated fake legal rules to shame me, claiming a "real" service dog would be trained never to urinate or defecate anywhere in the park—despite the fact that I was already holding a sealed waste bag heading toward a trash can.
When I reached out to management to report this behavioral misconduct, the response from the administration was completely dismissive. They minimized the public interrogation as standard "policy enforcement" and hid behind technicalities rather than addressing the hostile, accusatory behavior of their representatives.
Enforcing park rules is reasonable, but it must be done with basic human decency and respect for federal civil rights law. Sholom Park is currently a hostile environment for disabled visitors. I no longer feel safe or at ease visiting.
