市镇广场的点评
点评：Right in the middle of the bustling city center square filled with Restaurants, Bars, Wine Tasting, Art Galleries and Souvenir/Gift Shops is this lovely shady iconic George Washington Memorial Park – commonly known as “Town Square”. It is a fairly small grassy area with the Veteran’s Monument in the center and four huge Antler Arches on the four corners. There are clean stone paths to cross over from one side to the other.
It is said that John Colter – the First White Man in Wyoming – passed this way in 1807 and discovered the Yellowstone National Park. There is a large rock on one side of the park depicting this history. The Square was created in 1932 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
We were here several times during our week-long stay in this city as we visited the Art Galleries, patronized the Restaurants, shopped for souvenirs, and even did a Wine Tasting. We were fortunate to catch the Saturday Farmer’s Market that was filled with a variety of food stalls and musicians to entertain while we shopped.
The Horse carriages and the surrounding mountains added a special touch to our numerous photographs.
