点评:The Valencia aquarium is toward the seaward side of the beautiful Cuidad del Artes y Ciensas complex. It was a highlight of our tour there. Of course, the walk there includes the futuristic city of arts and sciences -- part of it was a backdrop for the Star Wars series Andor.
The aquarium is divided into different biomes, so you’ll see a wide array of fishes and other sea life from around the world. It's also a kind of indoor/outdoor park with different kinds of displays. There are many fun displays, such as the penguin aquarium. We also liked the tortoises, although they were not nearly as active as the penguins or belugas. There were several tanks of jellyfish, which were very artistic. We lost track of the number of different tanks, both salt and fresh water.
Perhaps the stars of the show are the 4 beluga whales. Two of them were rescued from Ukraine to protect them from harm during the war. They’re a lot of fun to watch.
This purports to be the largest aquarium in Europe, and that may be so. For us, it had a nice variety of displays and creative presentations. Plus, you have to admit it, beluga whales are extremely cool.
