点评：Did my Spitfire Experience today - it was a 70th birthday present from the family.
My wife and I were greeted by instructor Chris, an ex-BA pilot who has a wealth of knowledge and experience of flying a large number of different aircraft types over a long and varied career in aviation.
The simulator is a lovingly created replica cockpit of a Mk9 Spitfire, configured to behave like a Mk14 version which apparently was kinder to rookie pilots!
Housed in a small barn in the grounds of owner Brian's house, the interior is decked out with various bits of paraphernalia and memorabilia to recreate the feel of a 1940 Battle of Britain 'Scramble' hut, adding to the atmosphere of the experience.
Expertly mentored by Chris throughout, the simulator, with its 3 large screens, provides you with a real feeling of motion as you climb, dive and turn, including some aerobatic Victory Rolls.
I managed to complete the flight without crashing, including a 'touch-and-go' landing, a couple of Victory Rolls and a low pass under a bridge.
Unless I win the lottery, I am pretty sure that this is a close as I am going to come to flying a Spitfire and it was a great experience.
All the proceeds from this attraction go to the RAF Benevolent Fund so not only can you have a great time but know that your money is going to a good cause.
