点评：I was very disappointed by my visit to Glenveagh National Park. As an autistic person, I rely on my assistance dog to help me manage sensory overload, overwhelming situations, and social anxiety.
Before visiting, I saw signs stating that assistance dogs were welcome, so I believed I would be able to access the facilities with my dog. However, after arriving I was told that the signs only referred to guide dogs. As a result, I was refused entry to the café, the castle, and the shuttle bus.
If the policy is that only guide dogs are permitted, this should be made clear on the signage. Had I known this before travelling, I would not have made the journey. Instead, I was left feeling excluded and extremely distressed.
For autistic people and many others with disabilities, assistance dogs provide vital support that enables us to access public places. I hope Glenveagh National Park reviews both its signage and staff training so that other disabled visitors don’t have the same upsetting experience I did.
