点评:The Spinnaker Tower is well worth a visit anyway, but we go mainly to look at the spectacular views of Portsmouth and its surrounds, so wet/ foggy day visits will likely disappoint. But on a good day -Wow! Info on prices, times etc are better got from their website than from me, and anyway I was there to Abseil. Sponsored for my pet charity. I did book online, though you don't have to; people do walk in on the day and do it. It's not cheap; risk activities aren't and insurance has to be covered, the cheapest basic level is about £100, if I remember rightly, and if you want pics / video you have to buy them at the end. I paid £140, for a package including photos, a video and a medal. The next level includes a T shirt as well, but you can buy those separately. Abseiling is done weekends from April to end September / start Oct weather permitting. High winds at 300 ft are not good news, nor is rain, and abseiling is cancelled. I enjoyed the experience, the staff were friendly, and very competent. I did a medical declaration and waiver then a group of us, kitted up in harnesses (a little uncomfortable as they have to be tight. And I recommend trousers not shorts!), then up in the lift to just below the main viewing floor with it's glass ceiling that you can walk on, then had a safety briefing, before having GoPro cameras put on our helmets before being sent out in pairs, one one side of the (very small) platform and one on the other. Photos and some video footage were taken throughout this process, and were worth having afterwards. but once started down the helmet cam only really showed the wall and the rope with bits of view to the side. Someone at the bottom filming the descent or continuing from the top would have been better even if I had to pay extra. I did mention that in feedback. But it was a good experience, and I'd recommend anyone to try it at least once - knock it off the bucket list. And benefit a good cause while you're at it!
