Best of Faversham Market的点评
点评：Faversham Market Place is one of those places where the history of the town really comes alive. Situated at the heart of this charming market town, the square is surrounded by a wonderful collection of historic buildings, independent shops, cafés and traditional businesses, with the impressive Guildhall providing a particularly striking centrepiece.
I really enjoyed simply taking the time to wander around and soak up the atmosphere. There is a lovely sense that this is a place which has remained at the centre of everyday life for centuries. Faversham’s market has a history stretching back at least as far as the Domesday Book, and today the Market Place still has that wonderfully traditional market-town character, particularly when the stalls are out.
A visit to the nearby Faversham and Swale Visitor Information Centre is also well worthwhile. Housed in an attractive historic building, it is a very useful starting point for exploring the town, with friendly local volunteers, maps, walking trails and plenty of information about Faversham’s fascinating heritage. There is also a heritage bookshop and locally sourced souvenirs.
For me, the Market Place and Visitor Centre together make an excellent introduction to Faversham. They give you both a feel for the town as it is today and a fascinating glimpse into its long and colourful past. I would definitely recommend starting a visit here before exploring the surrounding streets, historic buildings and other attractions.
