A Great Hands-On Animal Experience for the Whole Family

点评：We visited Virginia Safari Park shortly after it opened with two 12-year-old boys. After getting our feed and a map, we drove straight into the safari. The boys really enjoyed using the map to identify the different animals as we made our way through the park.
It was amazing being able to get so close to the animals and feed them directly from the vehicle. The Highland cattle were probably my favorite. They were cute, friendly, and one of the most memorable parts of the drive.
One warning: watch out for the eland. They are very good at grabbing the entire feed bucket right out of your hand, so make sure you hold onto it firmly.
After finishing the drive-through portion, we stopped by the gift shop and bought more feed for the walk-through and petting-zoo areas. We were able to feed the goats, a baby llama, a baby camel, the budgies, and a giraffe. The boys loved being able to interact so closely with so many different animals.
I would also recommend being careful in the budgie encounter. They may look harmless, but they can nip hard enough to draw blood.
Overall, this was a great day and well worth the admission price. The kids loved all the animal interactions, and there was plenty for the adults to enjoy as well. I would definitely recommend Virginia Safari Park and would gladly return in the future.
