Wow, Surprisingly Great Art Museum
Saint Louis Art Museum的点评
点评：We love art museums and have been to many both inside and outside the US, so we decided to check out the St.Louis Art Museum.
Honestly, we didn’t have particularly high expectations for it but thought it would be a nice way to kill some time. Needless to say, we were very pleasantly surprised.
First of all, the whole area and grounds around the museum are beautiful. Once you get inside, in and of itself it isn’t super impressive, but the art it houses is tremendous.
SLAM contains amazing pieces from a wide variety of artists, including some of the greatest of the greats. One of my wife’s personal favorites is Monet, especially his water lily paintings. We were shocked to see that SLAM is one of only a handful of art museums in the world to contain one of his water lily paintings. My wife could hardly pull herself away from it.
SLAM also contains numerous interesting antiquity displays with some items dating back thousands of years.
In addition to the art and antiquities, SLAM contains a decent little cafe and a gift shop.
We definitely could have used more time to explore the museum than we allotted for ourselves. Hopefully, we’ll get an opportunity to return.
