点评:We visited Osoyoos on our homeward leg of a long trip in our campervan. We were both looking forward to a wine pairing at the first indigenous owned and operated winery.
The Nk'Mip property is beautiful, the architecture appealing. The tasting room and reception are gorgeous, with original art on display and in many cases for sale. (I came home with a little hummingbird glowing against a green background.)
The tasting itself was unique among tastings, only partly about the wine, but also included Nk'Mip stories about the Three Sisters, the traditional Maize, Beans and Squash.
Each of three delicious food items paired with a Nk'Mip Cellars wine incorporated one of the Three Sisters, and had an equally delicious wine to go with: a red, a white, and an icewine.
Beautifully plated, a feast for the eyes as well as the tastebuds. We enjoyed ourselves immensely, and wound up purchasing two bottles each of the white and red wines to take home.
Adjacent to the Nk'Mip Cellars is a protected desert space with more art, stories, and a nice looping trail. Wear good walking shoes and take a large water bottle if you're walking out in June as we did. The art did not disappoint!
