A little disappointing

点评：A nice country house and estate in a lovely setting, on the banks of the Tamar... except that access to the river is fenced off. The woodland walk and garden by the river are private with a separate entrance and additional entry fee. This is the big disappointment. The public part of the estate has been vastly reduced to nothing much. Visiting with a dog is even worst as most areas are off limits. Only gravel paths are permitted for dogs but these don't connect into a loop. You end up at the fenced off bit and you have to return the same way.
The formal gardens are cute but quite small. The rest is grass. One positive is the collonade café. The tables and chairs under the archways at the front of the house are inviting on a sunny day. I can't comment on the inside of the house, which I didn't visit.
