点评：With a day to spend in Homer before an evening flight--and because I love kayaking--I decided to sign up for a half-day kayak trip. True North provided boots, rain pants, and dry bags for those who needed them) and those items, as well as all other gear, were in excellent condition. Once we arrived by boat to our starting point, our guide Brian gave a short safety briefing, and then got us into our kayak skirts and into the water. I had never used pogoes (gloves that go over the paddles and keep hands warm and dry) and really appreciated having them.
The actual kayaking time on the 4-hour tour is around 2-2.5 hours. During that time, our guide did a great job pointing out wildlife--a sea otter, various sea birds, and a lucky sighting of a black bear on shore. When we returned to our starting point and beached the kayaks, Brian had hot cocoa and tea for us as we waited for the boat back to Homer. This was a great way to spend my last day in Alaska!
