Theotoky Estate的点评
点评：Visited Theotoky Estate for one of their wine tours and tastings, and it turned out to be one of the best winery experiences we’ve had — short, relaxed, informative, and very enjoyable.
The tour begins at the back of the house and leads towards the entrance area with outdoor seating, before moving into the ground-level cellar and tasting space. The interior is beautiful, with long wooden tables, exposed stone walls on one side, whitewashed walls on the other, wooden ceilings that gently slope downwards, and barrels lining the room. It feels authentic without trying too hard.
Tours run hourly from 12–4pm and cost €20 per person. The experience includes a guided tour, two white wine tastings, and a generous plate of meats, cheeses, bread with olive oil, plus a tomato and feta salad.
The tour itself is fairly short but informative. It covers the history of the family and their involvement in politics, some of the winemaking equipment, the cellar, and a video explaining the olive oil production process. There’s also a fun mention that the vineyard appeared in a James Bond film.
The white wines are made using the Robola grape. The 2021 vintage was excellent — balanced and smooth — while the 2022 was noticeably more tart and crisp.
A special mention goes to the lady leading the tours. She clearly loves her job: passionate, welcoming, accommodating, happy to answer questions, and great at problem-solving. She also seemed very comfortable accepting walk-ins, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and accessible.
This is a great activity whether the weather is good or bad. On a sunny day, you can sit under the trees enjoying the wine and food, while the indoor space is cosy and atmospheric if the weather turns.
What makes this experience stand out is that it doesn’t drag on. It’s concise, well-paced, and enjoyable — easily done in about an hour, though you could happily stay longer to enjoy the setting, wine, and food.
