点评:Cable car is out of action so in my wisdom decided we were going to walk the Med steps. We arrived by cruise, walked in to town (10 mins flat road) before getting the number 2 bus which people had advised.
It’s then a 10 mins super steep road up to the start. At this point I was in two minds whether to carry on. My husband and boys (11 & 14) are all very fit but I definitely am not. They’re reminded me that it was my idea and to suck it up.
Wanting to avoid the mid day heat we got to the start at 8:20 only to be told that the ticket office didn’t open until 9;30. He said if we didn’t want to wait then we could just go under the chain and through the gate…which we did. £100 saving on tickets but meant we couldn’t access Michaels cave.
Path wasn’t too bad but the steps were a killer. Unless you’re blessed with height, lifting and hauling yourself up one after another is hard work. The others found it ok whereas I wanted sit in the bunker and never leave. However all that said, the views and sense of achievement when you get to the top is amazing. You also get to feel rather smug passing people who took the easier road on the way down.
