诗丽吉王后植物园的点评
点评：Situated at Mae Rim outside Chiang Mai city, this was our second visit although it was several years ( pre COVID) since we last came here. Like all gardens, development continues and some areas were being changed and replanted so don’t expect perfection! The entrance fee is not reduced and dual pricing is in force with a reduced price for visitors over 60 applying only for Thai persons. There’s much to see and the area of the gardens is vast so unless you’re very fit and enjoy walking uphill, you will need transport to see the various areas. There’s is a shuttle bus.
Most visitors, including ourselves head first for the area where the glasshouses are situated. There was a considerable amount of groundwork taking place but that didn’t detract from the glasshouse plantings which including some magnificent displays of orchids and cacti. Take time…we were surprised at some visitors walking around with their heads in their mobile phones!
The glasshouses are a photographers’ dream so make sure batteries are fully charged. Aquatic, epiphytic, carnivorous, cacti all have display houses along with displays of local crafts from years gone by.
The various magnificent trees, a banana grove, a canopy walk and a waterfall are among other feature.
Highly recommended.
