A must stay residential experience - Superb and some of the finest dining in Wales

点评：An amazing, tranquil location outside of day-visitor time.
We've stayed at the Hotel Portmeirion and Angel self-catering cottage on numerous occasions and return because it is such a wonderful place. The vibrancy of colour, not just of the village but of the landscape, is incredible, be it in rain or sun, Summer or winter. When the day visitors have left, the atmosphere and views just get better.
The Portmeirion Hotel is outstanding, food amazing, special diets catered for, and there are stunning views over the estuary. The rooms are well furnished, quiet and extremely comfortable.
Angel 6-person self-catering cottage is within the village complex, located opposite the Town Hall. The pink and white curved building has 3 bedrooms: a twin, a double, and the third can be either twin or double. The beds are comfortable, and the room sizes are generous. The living room overlooks the chess lawn, gardens and estuary, and features a wood-burning stove (wood supplied). The Freeview TV includes a Prisoner Channel; a DVD player is also provided. The Dining Room French doors open onto a patio area with a small hedge and private signs. The wooden table, parasol and seating make this a lovely dining venue. The small kitchen includes a cooker, dishwasher, under-counter fridge with a small freezer compartment and a microwave oven. All cooking utensils, crockery, glassware, and cutlery for 6 are provided, as are washing-up materials, tea towels, and dishwasher tablets. High-quality soap and towels are provided, but not hair and shower gels. The cottage has an upstairs bathroom with a toilet, a rainfall shower room with a hand basin, and a downstairs toilet and hand basin. Two of the bedrooms have hand basins.
The atmosphere of Angel Cottage is very special; the accommodation features curved walls without a single right-angled corner and 3 doors. The two single doors are key card entry, and it feels very secure when day visitors are in the village. Our grandchildren loved to play on the lawn and chessboard in the morning before the day visitors arrived, and then enjoy their single daily chocolate treat from the village shop as well as an occasional ice cream from the parlour next to the cottage.
Parking is at the top of the village, and the village courtesy "taxi" will take you to and from the car parking space/s Hotel Portmeirion and Castell Deudraeth. Visitors without cars can be collected from the railway station.
Residents have use of the summer-season heated hotel swimming pool.
If you only do it once, this is a stunning place to stay, particularly if you are a fan of Patrick McGoohan's The Prisoner.
