点评：Went to Old New Gate Prison & Copper Mine last night for the performance of The Slippery Truth by Plays in Place productions starring Craig Pinder who was truly excellent. The location is really cool. If you want to learn about the history of the location and really get an in depth look at the mine/prison you should go during open hours in the daytime. The performance is dedicated to the story. It doesn’t give the history of the prison. If you don’t go during the day however not to worry. The production took the entire location into account and you have the opportunity through the performance to see each portion of the location briefly and take in the beautiful view to the west. You really get a sense of the conditions the prisoners lived in adding important context to the performance. Remember to wear sneakers so the slick and uneven conditions inside the mine are easier to navigate. Flashlights are provided. It was overall a nice and easy night out at an important historical location in CT.
