Times change. The winery has grown. Too large?

点评：Times change. Chateau Morrisette is in the top 2 wineries in Virginia for the amount of wine produced. Being that large has positive and negative impacts on their culture!
We happened to be in the area and drove the additional 70 miles to make the visit. We were Wine Club Members (WC6865) from early on. We remember when the restaurant was the winery and we were there when the ‘new’ winery was built. For many years it was our go to restaurant for my wife’s birthday. Then we moved from the area in the early 2000’s. This was our first trip back with time to revisit the winery.
My overall impression… the grounds need some care, the walkway in front of the restaurant needs a good power washing. The attitude of the staff was that of a corporation vs that of an up and coming company. Little things, nothing specific.
If you’re in the area it’s definitely worth a visit. The history of the wood used in the new winery is an interesting story. Same for the history of the family and the winery in general.
